Landon Strickland earned victories in singles and doubles play but the Aztecs men's tennis team dropped their opening match 5-4 to Mesa Community College. Strickland and Emanuel Robles-Serrano won at No. 3 doubles 8-5. Strickland picked up a win at No. 5 singles 6-1, 6-2.

Freshmen Jazmin Nunez (Cholla HS), Valeria Miranda (Sunnyside HS) and sophomore Ashley Fitzsimmons (Walden Grove HS) advanced to the second round of the NJCAA Division I Tournament. Nunez beat Juliet Quintero from NMMI 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 at No. 5 singles. Fitzsimmons and Miranda won their No. 2 doubles match 6-3, 6-1.

Sophomore Tomothy Ou won the rubber match against Jorge Sala from Mesa Community College 6-1, 6-3 in the No. 1 singles flight consolation final. Ou beat Sala in February but lost the second meeting in three sets in March.
