Sophomore outfielder and lead-off hitter Elise Munoz (Salpointe Catholic HS) was named ACCAC Division I Player of the Week for the week of Mar. 13-19. She went 10 for 16 (.625) with five RBIs, five runs scored, five doubles, two walks and one steal as Pima went 3-1.

The Aztecs baseball team won their 10th straight game as they swept GateWay Community College 10-3 and 15-2. The Aztecs have scored double figure runs in six straight games. Sophomore Luis Garcia (Salpointe Catholic HS) finished the day 5 for 6 with seven RBIs, two runs scored and two doubles. The Aztecs are now 28-8 overall and 15-5 in ACCAC conference play.

The Aztecs women's basketball season come to an end on Thursday as the No. 7 seeded Aztecs fell to No. 6 Bryant & Stratton College 78-72 in the fifth place consolation bracket semifinal. The Aztecs finished with a 26-9 overall record; most wins in a single season since 2015-16.

The No. 7-seeded Aztecs women's basketball team fell in the NJCAA Division II national quarterfinals to No. 2 CCBC-Essex 89-75 on Wednesday. Sophomore Luisa Chavez (Rio Rico HS) scored a game-high 21 points to go along with eight rebounds and four assists while sophomore Matehya Aberle (Holbrook HS) had a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds.

The Pima College women’s basketball team battled with the Community College of Baltimore County on Wednesday for a chance to go to the NJCAA Division II tournament final four. Freshman Mina Chacon (Tucson Magnet HS) hit two home runs and went 4 for 9 with eight RBIs and five runs scored while freshman Mallory Zylinski-Wrobel was 6 for 7 with six RBIs and a run scored as Pima swept Glendale Community College 16-6 and 19-11. Sophomore Joshua Bowen (Javelin, 54.04 meters, 177-3), sophomore Orion Barger (400 meters, 47.78), sophomore Joel Gardner (1,500 meters, 3:57.43) and sophomore Abraham Valenzuela (1,500 meters, 3:59.60) all set national qualifying marks/times at the GCU Invitational to open to the Outdoor Season.

Freshman Brooke Peterson earned a national qualifying mark in the Pole Vault with a mark of 3.67 meters (12-feet, 0.50-inches) while sophomore Jessica Bright-Schade set a national qualifying mark in the Javelin at 38.47 meters (126-feet, 2-inches) at the GCU Invitational.

Sophomore Elise Munoz (Salpointe Catholic HS) went 6 for 7 with four RBIs, three runs scored and four doubles on the day while freshman Genesis Zazueta (Tucson Magnet HS) pitched a complete-game, giving up one run (one earned) on three hits with three strikeouts and one walk in the first game.
