The provost of Pima Community College, on the job for a little over a year, is moving on to take a position at a Colorado school. Jerry Migler, who was appointed in August 2012, will leave Pima to become the vice president of academic affairs for the Colorado Community College System. Read more» 1

We are dealing with the fallout of what occurred during the Dr. Flores administration and the board's response or rather, lack of response, to those controversies. Embattled PCC is looking for two chief executives at the same time: a (very) interim head to replace interim Chancellor Suzanne Miles, and a permanent leader, whom PCC officials hope to have in place by July 1. Pima Community College officials signaled Monday that they are likely to reverse course on tightened admission standards in the wake of a accrediting body's report into administrative lapses at the school. "We're going to openly admit that we erred" in not clearing new enrollment standards for most courses with the Higher Learning Commission, PCC chief Suzanne Miles said. Read more» 2

In the wake of a critical report from an accrediting body, Pima College leaders recommended Friday that tightened admission standards be suspended for the next year. Pima's interim chancellor, Suzanne Miles, sent a letter to the PCC Governing Board that said the college should reverse a move that ended open enrollment for most classes. Read more» 1
