Arizonans went from filing 6,600 complaints with the CFPB in 2020 to filing nearly 8,000 the next year - almost half were complaints about what consumers called incorrect information on their credit reports and unsatisfactory responses by the credit reporting companies.

Consumers nationwide have submitted nearly 10,000 complaints with the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau about short-term consumer loans they believed were unfair, according to a recent analysis conducted by the Arizona PIRG Education Fund.
