Aztecs Men's Basketball freshman forward/center Traivar Jackson, from Anchorage, AK, was named Second Team NJCAA Division II All-American on Wednesday. He is the ninth Pima men's basketball player to earn the honor; sixth under coach Brian Peabody. He averaged 19.9 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.8 blocks as he started in all 30 games.

Chris Lee and Pierce Sterling signed letters of intent to play for the Aztecs men's basketball team. Lee averaged 26.6 points and 7.4 rebounds as a senior at Ketichikan High School in Alaska. Sterling played at Notre Dame Prep in California and averaged 10.9 points and 3.7 assists in his senior year.

Point guards Khalid Whitaker (Flowing Wells HS) and Luke Grawer (Pinnacle HS) signed their letters of intent to play for the Aztecs men's basketball program. Whitaker played in 21 games averaging 24.0 points, 5.8 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 3.1 steals while Grawer played in 13 games averaging 10.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.6 steals.

Sophomore guard Abram Carrasco (Cholla HS) became the seventh Pima men's basketball player to be named NJCAA All-American. He is the fourth player under coach Brian Peabody. Carrasco earned first team honors after he averaged 19.8 points on the season and set a new Pima school record with 1,310 points.

Sophomore Alize Travis fell a couple rebounds short of a triple-double with 21 points, 12 assists and eight rebounds as the No. 2 seeded Aztecs advanced to the NJCAA Division II Championship game on Saturday after beating No. 11 Delta College 102-94. The Aztecs will play  No. 1 Triton College (IL) on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. (CDT), 5:30 p.m. Tucson time.
