The Pima women's basketball fell short in repeating as Region I, Division II champions as they lost to No. 1 seeded Mesa Community College 74-72. The Aztecs finished the season at 23-8 overall. It is the sixth time the Aztecs have won 20-plus games in the ten seasons coach Todd Holthaus has been head coach.

Sophomore Sydni Stallworth (Palo Verde HS) scored a game-high 31 points as the Aztecs advanced to the Region I, Division II championship game after beating Scottsdale Community College 86-76. This will be the eighth time in nine years the Aztecs and Mesa Community College will meet for the Region crown. The game is Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Sophomore Sydni Stallworth (Palo verde HS) was named ACCAC Division II Player of the Year for the second straight year. She also earned first team All-ACCAC and first team All-Region I, Division II.

Sophomore Bree Cates hit the game-winning three-pointer with 2.6 seconds left and finished with 23 points. This was the first time in program history that the Aztecs had swept the Vaqueras in their regular season head-to-head meetings. Pima now 21-6 overall and 15-5 in ACCAC conference play.

Sophomore Moana Hala'ufia (Marana HS) grabbed 15 rebounds (seven offensive) to go along with four points in Pima's 79-59 win at Phoenix College. The Aztecs improved to 20-6 overall and 14-5 in ACCAC conference play.
