The No. 7-seeded Aztecs women's basketball team fell in the NJCAA Division II national quarterfinals to No. 2 CCBC-Essex 89-75 on Wednesday. Sophomore Luisa Chavez (Rio Rico HS) scored a game-high 21 points to go along with eight rebounds and four assists while sophomore Matehya Aberle (Holbrook HS) had a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds.

The Pima College women’s basketball team battled with the Community College of Baltimore County on Wednesday for a chance to go to the NJCAA Division II tournament final four. Freshman Dominique Acosta (Nogales HS) scored a game-high 18 points off the bench as she went 6 for 9 from the field and 6 for 6 from the foul line in No. 13 Pima Women's Basketball's 86-51 win over Chandler-Gilbert Community College. The Aztecs have won 11 of their last 13 and are now 22-6 overall and 15-5 in ACCAC conference play.

Sophomore Torrance Begay was instramental in the first quarter run and preserving a lead in the fourth quarter as the No. 15 ranked Aztecs women's basketball team beat Arizona Western College 74-64. Begay scored 24 points on 7 for 11 shooting and 4 for 5 from downtown. The Aztecs are now 20-6 overall and 13-5 in ACCAC conference play.

Sophomore Torrance Begay (Page HS) scored a team-high 19 points on 7 for 12 shooting as the No. 12 ranked Aztecs women's basketball team won their sixth straight game beating Yavapai College 82-69. The Aztecs have won 11 of their last 12 games and are now 17-4 overall and 10-3 in ACCAC conference play.

The Pima Community College women’s basketball team (17-4, 10-3 in ACCAC) broke away in the second quarter and produced its sixth straight win on Saturday against Yavapai College (7-12, 4-9). Read more»
