Aztec women's basketball wins 3rd straight
The Pima Community College women’s basketball team (5-4, 3-1 in conference) won their third straight game on Tuesday, defeating Scottsdale Community College 88-64 in Scottsdale.
Pima led at halftime 45-35 and took control in the second half, outscoring Scottsdale 43-29. The Aztecs had four players score in double figures — led by Raja Moreno-Ross (Tucson Magnet HS), who this week was named ACCAC Division II Player of the Week. Moreno scored a team-high 21 points. Melody McLaughlin (Marana Mountain View HS) scored 14 points while Alicia Jones (Palo Verde HS) and Holly Bolen (Tucson Magnet HS) each added 11.
Felicia Foster (Peoria HS) had 12 assists to go along with seven points. Pima finished the game with 24 assists.
The Aztecs averaged 88 points in their last three games while holding opponents to an average of 68 points per game.
The Aztecs are off until Wednesday, Dec. 4, when they host South Mountain Community College at the West Campus. The game is set for 5:30 p.m.
