Fans weigh in on MLS Cup

We talked to some local fans and others and got their predictions for this weekend's MLS Cup.

Most are picking the Galaxy, but there are some here and there that are not running with the pack.

Magdalena Barajas

  • Sunnyside School District Board Member, founder of Southern Arizona Armoury, an Arsenal fan club
  • Favorite teams: Sporting Kansas City, Arsenal FC
  • Prediction: Los Angeles Galaxy
  • "I don't want them to win, but I think they will. They haven't had a bad moment all season."

Chris Keeney

  • Partner in FC Tucson
  • Favorite team: FC Tucson
  • Prediction: Los Angeles Galaxy
  • "Not having Brad Davis hurts the Dynamo more than they will admit. LA has been the team of the year."

Renae Cuellar

  • Mexican national team forward, formerly with the U of A
  • Favorite team: Los Angeles Galaxy
  • Prediction: Los Angeles Galaxy
  • "The Galaxy and who's playing Sunday? Kidding. The Galaxy is a great team with great players."

Todd Lang

  • Executive director, Citizens' Clean Elections Commission
  • Favorite team: Columbus Crew
  • Prediction: Los Angeles Galaxy
  • "I always pick wrong, but they had the best season and got lucky to beat Kansas City."

Jacobi Goodfellow

  • Former player for FC Tucson and Portland Timbers
  • Favorite team: Portland Timbers
  • Prediction: Los Angeles Galaxy
  • "Big time players who are used to playing at that level. Donovan, Beckham, Juninho all know how to win games like this."

Paul Cunningham

  • Tucson City Council member
  • Favorite team: Sporting Kansas City
  • Prediction: Houston Dynamo
  • "The way the Galaxy have been playing, it's really hard to pick against them. They are loaded with talent, but I like to root for the underdog."

Vicente Fuentes

  • Fuentes Management Consulting
  • Favorite team: Los Angeles Galaxy
  • Prediction: Los Angeles Galaxy
  • "L.A. will win because of a tight defense with the top defender in the league a strong defensive midfielder in Juninho. Beckham feeding the front line of Keane, Magee and Lando. Forget about it, the cup is ours."

Joe-Max Moore

  • Former player, New England Revolution, Everton FC and U.S. national team
  • Prediction: Los Angeles Galaxy
  • "I like the Galaxy to win 2-1. I think they are a talented team and I fully expect the big 3, Beckham, Keane and Donovan, to play a major role."

Dominic Papa

  • Former player, FC Tucson
  • Favorite team: Columbus Crew
  • Prediction: Houston Dynamo
  • "I like the fact that they have lesser known players. It always gives a team a boost and an edge when they compete against the stars."

Keaton Koch

  • Student, Pima Community College
  • Favorite team: Philadelphia Union
  • Prediction: Houston Dynamo
  • "They beat the best team in MLS in the conference semi-finals, the Union."

And for good measure:

Ted Prezelski

  • Reporter,
  • Favorite teams: New England Revolution, Cruz Azul, Jagiellonia Białystok
  • Prediction: n/a
  • "These teams combine for four MLS cup victories. All four came at the expense of the Revs. Call me bitter."
