Pima women's basketball drops close one at Salt Lake
The Pima Community College women’s basketball team (1-2) lost a close game on Thursday in its first matchup on a trip through Utah.
The Aztecs lost to Salt Lake City College 63-58. Pima led 27-22 at halftime, but were outscored 41-31 in the second half. The Aztecs went 4 for 8 from the foul line while Salt Lake went 16 for 27.
Alicia Jones (Palo Verde HS) had a team-high 16 points and nine rebounds. Rachel Williams (Cesar Chavez HS) had 13 points and three assists while Raja Moreno-Ross (Tucson Magnet HS) contributed with 12 points and six rebounds.
The Aztecs will play Utah State University-Eastern at Salt Lake City College on Friday at 4 p.m.
