No dam for the Beavers: OSU emphatic against UA
Ponce scores lone Az goal
CORVALLIS, Ore. - The University of Arizona women's soccer team fell 5-1 to No. 23 Oregon State on Sunday afternoon at Paul Lorenz Field at Patrick Wayne Valley Stadium.
Arizona scored its only goal of the game in the 29th minute of action, courtesy of junior forward Jazmin Ponce off a free kick from outside of the goal box. The Wildcats registered a total of 13 shots throughout the match; Ponce led Arizona with four shots and Susana Melendez had two.
Oregon State came out strong on offense registering three of the five goals in the first half of the match. Both Jenna Richardson and Megan Miller recorded two goals while teammate Brandi Dawson recorded one goal. The Beavers out-shot the Wildcats 18-13 with Jenna Richardson leading the team with five shot attempts.
In the net, both Arizona goalkeeper Gabby Kaufman and Oregon State goalkeeper Sammy Jo Prudhomme registered four saves apiece.

The Wildcats return home for their final home matches against Colorado on Friday at 3 p.m. and Utah on Sunday at 11 a.m. Both matches will be played at Murphey Field at Mulcahy Stadium.
