Padres fall to Aces 7-3

Aaron Hill went 3-for-5 Saturday in the Reno Aces' 7-3 win over the Tucson Padres at Aces Ballpark. It was the first game on a three-city, 12-game road trip for the Padres.

The Aces went ahead 2-0 in the opening inning on Alfredo Marte's two-run double to right. Tucson struck for two runs of its own in the fourth on Daniel Robertson's RBI single and Brandon Allen's RBI groundout. Dean Anna collected a single in the inning to continue his hitting streak to 10 games.

Juan Rivera put Reno back in front in the fifth by lining a two-run single to right. Mike Jacobs brought around two more runs in the seventh to extend the Aces' lead to 6-2. Robertson scored on a double play in the top of the eighth to cut the deficit to three runs. Reno responded with a run in the bottom of the inning on Tony Campana's RBI groundout.

Michael Bolsinger (2-2) pitched seven innings and allowed two runs on six hits in the win. Jorge Reyes (4-3) was charged with the loss after yielding two runs in four innings of work. Wilfredo Boscan pitched the first two innings of the game surrendering four hits and two runs. Boscan made a spot start because Anthony Bass was recalled by San Diego earlier in the day.

Tim Hagerty is the play-by-play announcer for the Tucson Padres.
