Pima baller Moreno-Ross named NJCAA All-American

Pima Community College women’s basketball sophomore forward Raja Moreno-Ross (Tucson Magnet HS) was selected by the NJCAA as a Division II First Team All-American on Thursday.

This is the second straight year an Aztec woman was named NJCAA Division II First Team All-American — A’jha Edwards (Tombstone HS) received the honor last season. Moreno-Ross is the fifth Aztec to be selected First Team All-American in seven years and the eighth All-American in the last seven years.

She started all 32 games for the Aztecs this season, averaging almost 25 minutes, 13 points and nine rebounds per game. She also had 12 double-doubles on the season and was named First Team All-ACCAC and First Team All-Region I, Division II.
