Cats lose in first round of Pac-10 tournament

Slim chances turn to none for 26th-straight NCAA bid

The Arizona men's basketball team's hopes of a 26th straight NCAA tournament bid ended Thursday in Los Angeles in 75-69 loss to UCLA in the quarterfinals of the Pacific-10 Conference Tournament.

UA is 16-15 and the NIT appears the most logical choice for postseason play for the Wildcats.

The Cats shot only 40 percent from the field and were weak on defense, allowing UCLA to hit 53.2 percent of its shots. Nic Wise led UA with 16 points and Derrick Williams had 14.
