The Tucson Rodeo got underway this weeknd, with competitions in bareback riding, steer wrestling, roping, barrel racing and bull riding.

Events continue through Feb. 27.

The Tucson Rodeo Parade begins at 9 a.m. on Thursday. Billed as the world's longest non-mechanized parade, it will feature over 200 horse-powered and walking entries.

The "Celebration of the Cowboys" began in 1925. It is one of the top 25 rodeos sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, with prize monies over $420,000.
