Aztecs pitcher Plouck named ACCAC pitcher of the week

Pima Community CollegeCole Plouck pitched nine innings, giving up no earned runs with 11 strikeouts last week in games against South Mountain and Mesa.

Pima Community College pitcher Cole Plouck (Empire HS) received recognition from the ACCAC on Tuesday as he was named Division I Pitcher of the Week for Feb. 17-23.

Plouck didn’t give up an earned run last week in nine innings pitched and had 11 strikeouts in two appearances against South Mountain Community College and Mesa Community College.

He pitched in relief and got the win against South Mountain last Tuesday, where he went four and one-third innings giving up one run (none earned) on one hit with six strikeouts and two walks. On Saturday, he started against Mesa and pitched four and two-third innings giving up two runs (none earned) on five hits with five strikeouts and one walk.

The Aztecs will play at Eastern Arizona College in a conference doubleheader on Saturday in Thatcher. The games will be at noon and 2:30 p.m.
