Brewers vs. Mariners added to spring training games at Kino
Milwaukee will meet Seattle on March 16
Another Major League Baseball spring training game has been added to the schedule for Kino Stadium, the Pima County Sports and Tourism Authority announced Monday.
The Milwaukee Brewers will play the Seattle Mariners on Friday, March 16. First pitch is set for 1:05 p.m.
"Milwaukee and Seattle are cold weather climates and we look forward to seeing fans from those regions visiting Tucson for the game,” said Tom Tracy, chairman of the Pima County Sports and Tourism Authority, in a press release.
The game is the third MLB spring training game set for Tucson in March. The San Diego Padres will battle the Colorado Rockies at 1:05 p.m. on Sunday, March 18, and the Chicago White Sox will play the Los Angeles Dodgers at 1:05 p.m. on Friday, March 23.
Proceeds from the Chicago-L.A. game will go to the Christina-Taylor Green Memorial Foundation, which is named for the 9-year-old who was killed in the Jan. 8, 2011 shootings.
The Tucson Padres staff is overseeing operations for the three games.
"The Mariners-Brewers matchup is a great addition to Tucson’s spring training lineup at Kino Stadium," said Mike Feder, Tucson Padres president and general manager, in the press release.
“The Brewers won the National League Central Division last year and the Mariners are considered a team on the rise in the American League," Feder said.
Tickets for the three games are on sale through the Tucson Padres website and through the the Kino Sports Complex website.
Prices range from $6 for lawn seats to $500 for for suites that accommodate up to 20 people.
