Freshman Trinity Bethea broke the Pima school record in the 400 meters (58.88) while sophomore Jackie Trice earned an Indoor and Outdoor national qualifier in the Long Jump (5.63 meters, 18-feet, 5.75-inches) and an Indoor qualifier in the Pentathlon (2667 points). Sophomore Candice Pocase earned her national qualifier in the Pole Vault (3.00 meters, 9-10).

Freshman Benji Cazares (Tucson Magnet HS) finished 2 for 4 with an RBI and a double while Anthony Imhoff got the win (2-0) after pitching six innings giving up one run (one earned) on three hits with 10 strikeouts and no walks in Pima's 7-5 win over New Mexico Junior College. The Aztecs will play South Mountain Community College in the Zinger Classic championship round on Sunday at Sloan Park. First pitch is at 12:30 p.m.

Sophomore Matehya Aberle (Holbrook HS) scored a team-high 13 points but the No. 12 ranked Aztecs (Division II) got outmatched at No. 23 Cochise College (Division I) 75-60 snapping their 7-game winning streak. The Aztecs are now 18-5 overall and 11-4 in ACCAC conference play.

Freshman Mina Chacon (Tucson Magnet HS) went 4 for 6 with three runs scored while sophomore Elise Munoz was 4 for 8 with an RBI and two runs scored as Aztecs Softball split their games on Friday to close out the Great Western Shootout beating Utah State University-Eastern 12-8 but dropping the second game to the College of Southern Nevada 9-6. Jasmine Majonica (right) went 2 for 4 with four RBIs and two runs scored in the first game. The Aztecs are 3-6 overall.

The Aztecs baseball team opened the Zinger Classic in Mesa with wins over No. 11 ranked Salt Lake Community College and the College of Southern Nevada. Sophomore Jaeden Swanberg pitched five innings giving up one run (one earned) on three hits with 11 strikeouts and two walks against the Bruins. Sophomore Gage Mestas went 5 for 8 with an RBI, four runs, four steals and two walks on the day. The Aztecs improved to 6-0 on the season.
