Philip E. Wolgin is an Immigration Policy Analyst at the Center for American Progress. His research focuses on the development of U.S. and comparative immigration and refugee policy from World War II to the present.

Philip has published in peer reviewed journals as well as in online publications such as The Huffington Post, and has taught at the University of California Washington Center. He has also been involved with local D.C.-area immigration and refugee causes, volunteering with the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society and CARECEN.

A native of New Jersey, Philip earned his M.A. and Ph.D. in American history from the University of California, Berkeley, and his B.A. from New York University.
