A Southern Arizona native, Janet Rose Jackman is a graduate of the University of Arizona’s Journalism program, where she was in the top 5 percent of her class.
While in college, she worked for the Tombstone Epitaph. After graduating, she worked three years as news editor for the Sierra Vista Herald before moving on to the Salinas Californian. From Salinas she transferred to The News Journal in Wilmington, Del., where she worked as a copy editor for nine years.
She recently moved back to Southern Arizona where she took the position of news editor for TucsonSentinel.com. Jackman has more than 15 years experience as a reporter, copy editor and news editor.
A Mexican-American who is bilingual and grew up along the border, Jackman brings to TucsonSentinel.com her unique experience of reporting and editing on immigration issues.
