The Great Illuminator

Kim Jong Un has apparently acceded to power in North Korea following the death of his father Kim Jong Il, but the Kim Jong Un's youth (he's 29) makes many wonder to what extent he will be in command.

The young Kim reportedly attended school in Switzerland, which would perhaps give him a broader world view than his father and grandfather. And it seems certain the United States and South Korea — and to a lesser extent China — will be hoping to get in touch with an offer of support for a more democratic North Korea, one that possibly would agree to a timetable for reunification with South Korea.

Time will tell ...
