Hellertoon: Decade of inaction between Sandy Hook, Uvalde school shootings

In 2012, 26 people — including 20 children — were gunned down at Sandy Hook Elementary in Connecticut. In 2022, 21 were murdered at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas — including 19 little kids. In between, those with power to so something, have done nothing. Nothing at all.

The National Rifle Association's web of influence means the gun lobby remains effective at enforcing inaction in Congress, particularly in the Senate. And mass shootings — at elementary schools, at grocery stores and synagogues and churches — continue unabated.

Editorial cartoonist Joe Heller worked for the Green Bay Press-Gazette from 1985-2013, and has won numerous awards for his work, which is published in more than 350 news outlets around the country.
