Majority rules

Republican legislators rejected calls for the immediate expulsion of Democratic state Rep. Daniel Patterson on Tuesday, saying more time was needed to read an Ethics Committee report detailing allegations of wrongdoing.

If we were cynics, we'd think the Republican majority were hoping to drag the Patterson affair out for as long as possible, punctuating proceedings with periodic reminders that until several days ago, Patterson was a member of the Democratic Party.
