How to fix a broken border: Disrupting smuggling at its source

The challenge is by no means simple and the solution will take far more determination than has been applied so far. What will definitely not work are the simplistic one-dimensional answers that sound good on the evening news, but do little or nothing to stop the threat.

This is why we need educated people who can and do think critically in our government.  Mr Goddard clearly understands the complexity of the border and has distilled it succinctly.  It is a pity that the article contains so many more words than most will be willing to read and consider.
