UA president: Guns will do nothing to make our campus safer

I have been a gun owner for all my adult life, and am fully supportive of the right to own a gun. However, having faculty, staff or students bringing weapons into classrooms and other campus activities will do nothing to make our campus safer.

For more than 125 years, the UA has been a hub for academic and cultural activities for the state’s citizens

Two points of facts to consider:

1887-1993: Guns allowed on campus. Zero mass shootings.

1993-current: No guns allowed on campus. One mass shooting, 4 dead.

Murderous criminals aren’t law-abiding. Imagine that!
