Occupy protesters to target chain stores on Black Friday

Occupiers hope to steer consumers toward small, local businesses

This week the Occupy Wall Street protesters will occupy parking lots rather than campuses and Zuccotti Park, in hopes of pushing consumers away from shopping malls and big changes, towards local, small businesses.

This is stupid, and proof positive that the flea party is misdirecting their anger…

Even though none will listen, I will try to explain AGAIN…

If I pay you to punch someone in the face, and you do it…who did wrong? Can’t you say “no”?

Corporations are not to blame for corrupt politicians…corrupt politicians are to blame for corrupt politicians. And, the electorate is to blame for refusing to hold corrupt politicians accountable.

I promise I’m telling the truth here…but the flea party doesn’t care. They’re just going to do whatever they want to do, regardless of whether or not it makes any sense.

idiots trying to tell people where to shop.  I hope they get trampled by about 50 large middle aged women in pursuit of bargains.

Heh, Bret,  You cite shopping at Wal-mart a part of the problem in another thread but you are quick to insult the same people calling for support of small businesses instead.  This is proof positive that you, sir, are a hypocrite!

Not only am I not a hypocrite, but you’re a liar.

My statement earlier in this thread was all true, and contradicted nothing I have said in the past…especially that which you linked to.

Let’s be honest here…you’re not protesting Walmart because they’re shipping American to China one dollar at a time. Odds are you weren’t even aware of that until I told you about it. You’re protesting Walmart because they’re plentiful, and have more money than you. With you, it’s nothing about patriotism; it’s just class envy in your case.

But, you move your flea circus to Walmart if it makes you happy. I for one think that would provide much more entertainment then your park squatting has lately.

Not sure what you’re referring to, I haven’t said anything untruthful.  Unlike you, I am at least basing my statements about you on facts I’ve learned and can link to on these message boards.

It doesn’t really matter what the reason is for protesting wal-mart or other big-box and chain stores, since they all have a huge dependence on China in order to make huge profits.  The two go hand in hand.  For you to separate them is short-sighted.

For the record, I have protested wal-mart for years, mainly because of their huge dependence on China, but also for their ability to totally shut down local businesses, and for their poor treatment of workers, especially women.  And i protest the same with any other business.  When you say things like i ‘probably wasn’t aware of it until you told me’ just add to the fact that you are way too presumptuous to have a decent conversation with.
