Heat illness research could aid soldiers, warm-weather residents

Researchers at the Institute for Exercise and Environmental Medicine at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas a recent experiment will help them better understand how heat stress affects the body’s reaction to hemorrhaging wounds. That knowledge could improve care for soldiers in the Middle East and even construction workers, police officers and firefighters who sustain bleeding injuries in the summer heat.
