Associated Press drops 'illegal immigrant' from style guide

Many newspapers and journalists across America will no longer use “illegal immigrants” in stories after the Associated Press announced today it’s dropping the term from its style guide. While actions might be termed "illegal," people are not, executive editor Kathleen Carroll said.

Well, the AP is wrong on this one and the term “illegal immigrant” came from the legal classification as “illegal alien.”  The AP is puting politics ahead of logic.

I would hope that any news organization would be flexible enough to not remove the reference if a writer has used it.

So, let me guess what the cycle will be….

The mass media will now call them “undocumented immigrants” or something like that. Then, the open-borders crown will decide they don’t like that either, stigmatize it by calling it racist for reasons that only make sense to them, the mass media will cave, and then they’ll come up with something else and the cycle will repeat.

Am I right?

What you call it doesn’t change what it is. I call them border jumpers…that’s accurate.
