Agents find drugs in vehicle's gas tank

Ajo Station agents seized nearly 69 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop Tuesday near the Lukeville Port of Entry. Agents found the drugs hidden in the vehicle's gas tank when a canine agent alerted them to the possible presence of drugs. Three people now face federal drug charges.

A 26-year-old Mexican man was apprehended by Douglas Station agents Tuesday and a background check revealed he had convictions in North Carolina for kidnapping and sexual assault of a child. He's facing federal prosecution for illegal re-entry of an aggravated felon.

Naco Station agents apprehended a Mexican man Tuesday for illegally entering the United States. During processing, the man admitted to having ties to the Bichos Locos 32 street gang. He was held for federal prosecution.

Nogales Station agents apprehended a man convicted of assault in Santa Barbara, Calif. He had a warrant out of California. He's expected to be extradited to Santa Barbara for another assault charge.
