Customs and Border Protection officers seized nearly $1.5 million in marijuana hidden behind a false wall in a tractor-trailer at the Mariposa Port of Entry on Monday.

Officers arrested Jose Enriquez-Anzar, 70, after agents discovered 2,946 pounds of marijuana hidden behind a false wall in the tractor-trailer he was driving, the agency said in a press release.

During a secondary inspection with an X-ray machine, officers noticed an "anomaly" in the trailer, the agency said .

After a drug dog alerted to the presence of narcotics in the empty trailer, officers soon discovered 139 bundles of marijuana hidden behind a false wall, according to the release.

Officers seized the drugs and the tractor-trailer and Enriquez-Anzar was handed over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.

In early November, the agency seized nearly 6,000 pounds of marijuana also hidden in a tractor-trailer.
