Latest election returns: Yes votes leading on medical marijuana
The latest vote counts released by the State of Arizona on
Wednesday Thursday Friday show Proposition 203, the medical marijuana initiative, leading by 4,400 votes.
The proposition had been failing by about 3,000 votes as provisional ballots were counted after last week's election.
Medical marijuana passed by wide margins in Arizona twice before, but was overturned in court both times.
A bit more inside baseball is Proposition 112, which would move up the filing deadline for initiatives from four months to six months before an election. But, proving every ballot counts, the measure is passing by only 43 votes. If the final spread is less than 200 votes, there will be a recount.
1.63 million votes were cast in the election.
