$2.3M in pot seized at Nogales port of entry
Customs and Border Protection officers working at the Mariposa cargo facility in Nogales seized more than $2.3 million worth of marijuana hidden in the back of a tractor-trailer Friday.
The driver, Carlos Munoz-Munoz, 35, was arrested by officials after a drug dog alerted to the presence of narcotics and an inspection revealed 4,661 pounds of marijuana hidden among a load of electronics, the agency said in a news release.
Munoz, a Mexican national, was handed over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations and the drugs and truck were seized.
