CBP helicopter crashes near Bisbee
A helicopter pilot with Customs and Border Protection walked away from an emergency landing east of Bisbee on Monday afternoon.
Around 4 p.m., a pilot assigned to the Tucson Air Branch of the Office of Air and Marine was on patrol in an AS-350 "A-Star," when he was forced to make an emergency landing south of the Remax Foothills just east of Bisbee.
The pilot was alone and was able to walk to a vehicle responding to the incident, but was later transported to a hospital for evaluation, said an agency spokesman.
No fatalities or other injuries were reported.
The National Transportation Safety Board and CBP are investigating the cause of the crash.
