Women with $119K in marijuana arrested at Douglas crossing

A Mexican woman was arrested Friday after Douglas-area U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers discovered more than 235 pounds of marijuana, worth around $119,000, stashed throughout her truck.

The woman, identified only as 28-year-old Mexican national, was arrested at the Raul Castro Port of Entry when a drug dog alerted to the presence of drugs in her Chevy truck, said Rob Daniels, a CBP spokesman.

Officers inspected the vehicle and found drugs hidden in a tire, and underneath a liner in the truck bed.

The drugs and vehicle were seized and the woman was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
