Former gang member held on drug charges

Arrests

Ajo Station agents arrested a 19-year-old Mexican man Saturday who was carrying a load of marijuana. He admitted to once being a member of the Sureño gang. He was held on federal drug charges.

Douglas Station agents arrested a 26-year-old Mexican man Sunday who illegally entered the United States. Record checks showed he was affiliated with the Sureño gang and was convicted of driving under the influence in Polk County, Iowa. He was held for federal prosecution.

Naco agents arrested a 33-year-old Mexican man Monday for illegally entering the United States. Record checks revealed he had a misdemeanor conviction for one count of sexual intercourse with a minor in Stockton, Calif. He was held for federal prosecution.

Seizure

A canine team at the S.R. 80 checkpoint found 70 pounds of marijuana, worth $35,300, in a vehicle. The drugs and vehicle were seized. The driver and passenger of the vehicle were held on federal drug charges.lk
