Friday is early ballot request deadline
If you'd like to cast your vote while sitting at your kitchen table, Friday is the final day to request that a ballot be mailed to your home.
Requests must be received by the Pima County Recorder's Office by 5 p.m.
Early ballot requests can be made online or by calling 740-4330.
Mailed early ballots can be returned at the Recorder's Office, 115 N. Church Ave., returned by mail to P.O. Box 3145, Tucson, AZ 85702, or dropped off at any polling place on election day.
The status of early ballots can be checked on the recorder's website.
While a record number of voters — more than 231,000 — requested early ballots, only about 30 percent of those mailed out have been returned, according to the Recorder's Office.
In Congressional District 8, of the 69,000 ballots mailed to Democrats, about 22,400 have been returned. Of the 69,000 requested by Republicans, just over 25,000 have been mailed back. Among independents, 14,000 of the 44,500 ballots mailed have been sent in.
In Congressional District 7, Democrats have returned 10,000 of the 36,000 mailed. Republicans: 4,000 of the 12,000 requested. Independents: just under 4,000 of the almost 17,000 requested.
Both districts include voters in other counties. CD 7 has a strong Democratic majority, while CD 8 has a slight Republican edge in voter registration.
Early voting
If you'd rather vote in person, there is still time to cast a ballot — even before election day.
The deadline for early voting is Oct. 29. Several voting sites will be open Saturday. Two emergency voting sites will be open in Pima County on Oct. 30 and Nov. 1.
