American arrested for attempted drug smuggling

Casa Grande Station agents apprehended a 32-year-old El Salvador man Tuesday morning for illegally entering the United States. Record checks revealed he had a prior removal and he admitted to being a member of the MS-13 street gang. He was held for prosecution.


Casa Grande Station agents seized an abandoned AR-15 rifle and a loaded magazine with .223-caliber rounds Monday near Vamori. The weapon and ammunition were turned over to the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office.

Ajo Station agents working in the West Desert on Monday arrested a 27-year-old U.S. citizen for attempting to smuggle 53 bricks of marijuana into the United States. The drugs had a combined weight of almost 115 pounds with an estimated value of $57,350. The vehicle and narcotics were seized. The woman was taken to the station for processing.
