PCSD: One man killed, another wounded in related shootings

One man was found dead of apparent gunshot wounds, and another was injured in what authorities believe were related incidents Sunday night on Tucson's Southwest Side.

Just after 8:30 p.m., deputies responded to a report of an "unknown problem" in the 4300 block of West Valencia Road, and found an adult man dead. He had apparently been shot, said a Pima County Sheriff's Department spokesman.

A half-hour later, deputies responding to another "unknown problem" call at a residence in the 5000 block of West Tillery Street, south of Valencia off South Mark Road and just blocks from the first incident, found another adult man with "apparent gunshot wounds," said Deputy Cody Gress. The second man was conscious, and taken to a hospital for treatment.

"His initial condition was listed as stable," Gress said.

"It is believed both incidents are related," the spokesman said.

"Anyone with further information about this case is asked to call 911. You can also submit an anonymous tip, with the potential for a reward, by text, phone, or email to 88-CRIME," Gress said.
