CBP seizes $317K in cocaine in San Luis

A Yuma-area man was arrested for trying to smuggle 30 pounds of cocaine worth about $317,000 through the San Luis Port of Entry on Monday, authorities said.

Sergio Romero, 56, was arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle the drugs in the floor of his Ford truck. A drug-sniffing dog alerted officers to the presence of 12 packages of cocaine, the agency said.

Officers seized the drugs and vehicle, and handed Romero over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
