Officers at the Douglas Port of Entry arrested four people men in separate incidents this weekend, three for allegedly trying to drive stolen vehicles into Mexico, and the fourth for trying to smuggle around $62,000 worth of marijuana into the United States, authorities said.

On Saturday, officers arrested 55-year-old Lorenzo Murillo-Rascon from Animas, New Mexico after a records check revealed the Dodge truck he was driving was reported stolen. 

Later that day, 46-year-old Martin Galaz of Douglas, Arizona faced additional questioning and a Douglas Police confirmed that the Chevrolet truck he was driving was reported stolen.

Late that afternoon, officers also arrested a 17-year old from Los Lunas, New Mexico who was driving a stolen GMC truck, the release said.

All three men and the seized trucks were turned over to the Douglas Police Department.

On Sunday, a 27-year old Tucson woman was arrested when agents discovered 123 pounds of marijuana stashed in a Ford SUV.  Smelled by a drug dog, the 117 small packages of marijuana were in a spare tire, in the headliner and in the fuel tank.

Port officers seized the vehicle and referred the woman to Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
