Border Patrol wrapup: Gang member arrested
Arrests
Agents from the Casa Grande Station apprehended a 25-year-old man from El Salvador after he illegally entered the United States on Tuesday. Records checks revealed the man had affiliations with the Mara Salvatrucha street gang and had a prior removal in 2005. He was held for federal prosecution.
Casa Grande agents responded to a report of two suspicious vehicles in the West Desert on Tuesday. Agents located a pickup truck and a sports car on U.S. 19 fitting the description given by dispatch. Agents stopped the vehicles and apprehended 10 illegal immigrants and four U.S. citizens. Both vehicles where seized and the 14 people were taken to the Casa Grande Station for processing.
Assist
Sonoita agents responded to a request from the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office for assistance in finding a U.S. resident who was reported was lost Tuesday. Deputies and agents found the woman who did not require medical attention.
Rescue
A CBP helicopter crew saw a man in distress while patrolling northwest of Sasabe. A member of the flight crew and a Border Patrol agent certified as an emergency medical technician found the man, a Mexican national and transported him to a nearby hospital.
