Task force seeks wider public input on Broadway project

Interested in the $71.3 million dollar project to revamp Broadway between Euclid and Country Club? A citizen's task force will discuss alternatives and take public input Thursday night.

The Broadway Citizens Task Force will provide updates on the street widening plan and alternatives in a meeting at the Sabbar Shrine Hall, 450 S. Tucson Blvd., 6-8:30 p.m.

The 13-member group is asking for community input. The event will include small group discussions; feedback will be shared via comment cards and message boards.

The project, part of the 2006 Regional Transportation Authority plan, is still in the planning and design stage.

The RTA's proposal to widen the roadway is opposed by many neighborhood residents and business owners.
