A body discovered Tuesday on the property of the Sierra Tucson Rehabilitation Center has been identified as that of a California man who disappeared from the facility north of Tucson on Aug. 13, a Pinal County Sheriff’s spokesman said Friday.
The Pima County Medical Examiner’s Office positively identified the body of Ken Litwack, 71, who was reported missing from the facility on Aug. 13, said Elias Johnson, spokesman for the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office, in a press release.
Litwack’s body was discovered Tuesday when staff members were on a horse ride on the property, Johnson said.
The Newport Beach, Calif., had self-admitted into the Pinal County mental health and rehabilitation hospital, located just southeast of Saddlebrooke, on Aug. 12.
His family had offered a $10,000 reward for information in finding him, had hired Tucson private investigators and had assembled a team of volunteers to search for him.
The cause of his death has not been determined and there was no evidence of foul play, Johnson said.
