J.C. Scott: Isquierdo talks about the 'New Sunnyside'

On Wednesday's edition:

We started the show with an interview with Sunnyside Unified School District Superintendent Manuel L. Isquierdo, who talked about the "New Sunnyside'" as he laid out his plans for the future. Members of the district's Governing Board are facing recall efforts because of their support of — and opposition to — the renewal of Isquierdo's contract.

27 min: Administrator Mark B. Evans talked about his latest opinion piece, "Transplanting bighorn sheep to Pusch Ridge is cruel and futile." He also talked about what he believes is  a misperception that Kino Stadium is located in a crime-ridden area, and commented on a court ruling the the City of Tucson must release records of negotiations with Grand Canyon University.

51 min: We talked with Tucson Padres General Manager Mike Feder, who thanked supporters and invited listeners to the team's final home stand over the next nine games — perhaps the finale of professional baseball in Tucson. He talked about the history of baseball in Tucson and the perception that the ballpark should have been located downtown or perhaps in Marana.

70 min: We were joined by financial advisor Shelly Fishman for our regular Wednesday segment "Your Financial Future," as he gave a review of world and national financial markets. The focus this week was the market pullback. Is there a large correction coming?

88 min: We finished the show with Middle East expert Prof. Stephen Zunes, who updated listeners on the latest news news out of war-torn Egypt and Syria.
