J.C. Scott: 'Top 2' primary initiative in peril

An interview with Mohur Sarah Sidhwa, a Democrat running for state House in LD9, plus editor Dylan Smith and Arizona Capitol Times editor Jim Small break down the news:

Smith and John and talked about many issues, including the proposed jaguar critical habitat that includes the Rosemont Mine area, immigrants' rights issues and the battle between Gov. Jan Brewer and the federal government, plus Southern Arizona primary races.

Mohur Sarah Sidhwa, a Democratic candidate for state House in LD9 talked about the importance of strong Southern Arizona representation. She reiterated her support for the one-cent sales tax for education and expressed disappointment in Brewer's stance on immigration.

Jim Small, the editor of the Arizona Capitol Times, broke the story that the "Top Two" primary initiative does not appear to have enough qualified signatures to be placed on the November ballot. He also talked about the battle that's brewing for the appointment of a president of the state Senate, and the immigration fight between Arizona and Homeland Security.
