Updated: Brewer claims Facebook censored her post on immigration

Gov. Jan Brewer claims the social networking site Facebook removed an editorial cartoon and statement on President Obama's immigration policies she posted Thursday.

Brewer posted a parody of the famous World War II-era "We Can Do It!" cartoon—commonly known as "Rosie the Riveter"—that shows Brewer flexing her muscles with the slogan "Arizona/Doing the Job the Feds Won't Do!"

"After I posted the following statement and photo yesterday, Facebook censored the post and removed it because the photo apparently violated their "Facebook Community Standards." Before it was removed, it had received over 10,000 likes and comments," Brewer wrote as she reposted the cartoon and statement on Friday.

It's Facebook's practice to not offer specific reasons for the removal of material it says violates its standards.

The company issued a statement late Friday: "The post was removed in error. We apologize for the inconvenience."
