Border Patrol wrapup: Pot seized; human remains found in desert

A summary of Border Patrol activities in the Tucson Sector in the past 24 hours, provided by U.S. Customs and Border Protection:


Douglas Station agents, responding to a report of suspicious activity east of town Thursday, seized nine bundles of marijuana weighing 423 pounds and were worth about $211,000.

In a separate incident during a vehicle stop Thursday, Douglas agents arrested three U.S. citizens who were transporting approximately 20 pounds of marijuana, the agency said. Agents seized the marijuana—worth $10,000—and vehicle.


Agents from the Casa Grande Station discovered human skeletal remains Thursday in the west desert and turned the investigation over to the Tohono O'odham Police Department.
