Oro Valley lifting fireworks ban

Improved fire conditions mean the Town of Oro Valley is lifting a ban on consumer fireworks that was imposed on June 15.

The prohibition will expire Wednesday, town spokeswoman Misti Nowak said.

The chief of the Golder Ranch Fire District reviewed the fire risk and "determined that the current fire conditions allow for the lifting of the ban," she said in a news release.

"Conditions have significantly improved and we are comfortable lifting the ban," said Town Manager Greg Caton in the release.
