Sahuarita man shoots himself while cleaning pistol

A 40-year-old Sahuarita man was taken to the hospital Monday afternoon after shooting himself in the leg.

Sahuarita Police Sgt. Michael Falquez said officers were summoned to the 00 block of West Camino Rio Cebolla shortly before 1 p.m. after the man shot himself just above the knee while cleaning his .40-caliber handgun.

The bullet lodged in the man's leg, he was taken to a hospital and he is expected to recover, Falquez said.
