A Tucson toddler died Wednesday, a day after being shot by another young child, authorities said.
The one-year-old girl, whose name was not released, was shot at a Midtown home around 2 p.m. Tuesday, police said.
The girl was taken to a hospital, but died around noon on Wednesday, a Tucson Police Department spokesman said.
The girl was shot with a small-caliber rifle fired by another young child, in what police said was an "accidental" shooting. The incident took place in a home on East Linden Street, near East Pima Street and North Swan Road.
Police are still investigating the incident.
